Pump valve product technology research and development investment has long been insufficient

China's general machinery industry has made great progress, especially the technical level of products such as pumps and valves continues to improve, and can provide some high-end products for the market, but there are still some products in the import state. According to the data provided by the China General Machinery Industry Association, since the beginning of this year, China's large imports of pump products mainly include: hydraulic reciprocating piston pumps, other hydraulic reciprocating drainage pumps, rotary axial piston pumps, other centrifugal pumps, liquid pump parts, vacuum pumps and so on. Valve products mainly include: pressure reducing valve, hydraulic drive valve, pneumatic drive valve, safety valve or relief valve, valve parts, etc. According to the person in charge of the China General Machinery Industry Association, there are four main reasons for this phenomenon.

First, investment in research and development is chronically inadequate. Domestic enterprises in the product technology development concept and some foreign developed companies have an obvious gap. Insufficient investment in scientific research funds and R&D funds has become an important factor restricting the independent research and development of enterprises. According to incomplete statistics of the pump industry, research and development capital investment accounts for less than 2% of the business income of the business owners, compared with well-known foreign companies, the industry's research and development capital investment is very small. Relevant statistics show that the annual research and development costs of China's pump industry are not as much as the scientific research funds of a foreign enterprise.

Second, the capacity for independent innovation is weak. It is understood that the digestion and absorption of the introduction of technology in China's machinery manufacturing industry is slow, most enterprises are not strong in technological innovation, and 57% of the core technology sources of main machinery products rely on the introduction. Although most of the products in China's pump manufacturing industry have basically achieved independent production and manufacturing, domestic enterprises bear more of the low-end processing links of products, and the breadth and depth of autonomy need to be improved. For example, the nuclear pump products in the complete sets of nuclear power plant equipment and the high pressure boiler feed water pump core package products in the complete sets of supercritical and ultra-supercritical thermal power plant equipment have begun to be localized, and most of their key core technologies still need to rely on imports.

Third, customers are less willing to buy domestic products. Although domestic products have reached the same level as foreign countries in terms of performance indicators, some customers are still willing to buy foreign technical equipment, making it more difficult for the first set of domestic pump products with major technical equipment to enter the market. Although many domestic high-end pump products have considerable technical grade, some use departments still refuse to use for reasons such as lack of operational performance. Fourth, the lack of industry common technology research. Due to the reform, some industry-oriented research institutes have become independent enterprises, and the structural nature and focus of work have changed greatly. Its technical support role in the industry is weakening, the development of new technologies and new processes is slow, and standards such as design, process, materials and manufacturing are difficult to dock with foreign countries.

In this regard, the relevant people put forward three suggestions: first, establish a new mechanism to encourage independent innovation of enterprises. According to the national pump and valve manufacturing industry comprehensive planning and regional layout planning, the construction of a number of regional leading technology and product development laboratories, test bases and product development centers. Relying on science and education institutions with strong innovation ability, the establishment of scientific and technological achievements diffusion sites. Encourage and support the establishment of pump valve manufacturing technology research and development center. Second, improve the technology extension system. Reasonably set up grass-roots manufacturing technology promotion organizations, and gradually establish a diversified manufacturing technology promotion system led by the national manufacturing technology promotion organization, division of labor, cooperation, and service in place. In addition, we must improve the scientific and technological training system and improve the protection system of intellectual property rights. We will establish and improve the connection between the training service functions of colleges and universities, scientific research institutions and secondary vocational schools and basic education, and give full play to the strength of institutions at all levels. Further improve the market environment for new product innovation, actively promote the development of new products, and establish and improve the management rules and regulations for new products independently developed by enterprises and scientific research institutions.
